The Five Fingers in Hallstatt, Austria

Don’t look down! It’s only a 1,500 foot drop. The five fingers is a platform that extends off of the Krippenstein in Austria. There are five platforms that extend out, hence the name. It offers a sweet panoramic view of Hallstatt and Obertraun. Take a cable car to the first stop and you can also visit the ice caves which gets down to about 32 degrees F year around, even in July. The next cable car takes you up to Dachstein Krippenstein cable car summit station where the 5 fingers is about a 20 minute walk away. The cost is 39 Euro for both the ice caves and five fingers or about $50. If you’re afraid of heights, just stick to the ice caves.

Say cheese! Someone poses in the picture frame on the far left platform.

And the middle finger…would you walk to the end?
