I’m kind of addicted to photographing cathedrals. My first day in Barcelona, I went to the Gothic district. This was the first of three cathedrals I visited that day.
The church was built in the 14th century with the cornerstone being laid in 1329. The final stone was laid in 1383. The church was consecrated by Pere Planella, bishop of Barcelona, on August 15th, 1384. So if you’re ever on Jeopardy and are asked about Santa Maria del Mar, now you know.
